Fire Service Visit.

The children were very excited to see the firemen last week.
The children had some great ideas and questions.
We talked about home strategies and the role of the fire men in society.
We got to practise leaving our class room in case of fire as well.
The firemen wondered where the class was going as they crawled from the room and then headed for the field. The children were doing exactly as they were supposed to do and heading over to the rugby posts to line up.
Great job Tetahi.
Thank you fire men.
We are looking forward to the trip to the fire station tomorrow.

Error!

We teach our children to reread their writing, underline words that they think need to be checked and then correct them using a word source and red pen. That is the theory and some children are more receptive to the process than others.
As you can see, I missed the step out in the last post. It was meant to say "stroke".
Sorry!

Here are a few pictures from Discovery today.

A Furry Visitor

Jacko brought his new puppy in to visit on Tuesday afternoon.

We found out that it is a girl, her name is Milly and she was born in January.
She was soft and small and trembling. We all enjoyed having her lick our hands. We all got to give her a cuddle and stoke her. She was a very cute visitor.

2015

Welcome back to a new year with new children in a new class at Highfield School.

We are Room One, Tetahi.

We have all got aboard our ship and are sailing across the ocean of learning and time using our Highfield Learner Skills to get us safely through the year.

We are looking forward to learning new skills and to sharing some of our journey with you.
